Hamirpur – Himachal Pradesh

Hamirpur is a town and the district headquarters of Hamirpur district in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Hamirpur is western region of Himachal pradesh. Today Hamirpur is well know place or city and one of the most education institutional district in Himachal. There are number of well institute in Hamirpur like National Institute of Technology (NIT) which is very popular in Hamirpur Himachal, MIT Polytechnic managed and run by Group of Institutions Hamirpur. Hamirpur was named after the Katoch king Raja Hamir Chand.

People coming from Shimla, Chandigarh, Punjab can spend some time there. There are lot of fair and festivals in Hamirpur district like Hamir Utsav, Chaniary, Baba balak Naath ( Deotsidh) and Baggi Mela, Dussehra also celebrates in Hamirpur.

There are Major attractions in Hamirpur like Sujanpur Tira : located on the bank of River Beas. beautiful town inhabited by Maharaja Sansar Chand Katoch who was the King of Kangra and later shifted from Kangra to Sujanpur Tira. Sujanpur Tira is 25 km from Hamirpur where every year big Holi Fair celebrates. Tira is one of the most historical place and famous Taal and temple of there. You can see huge play ground in Sujanpur.  All types of sports Tournament, School label tournament, district, Jonal and States label games organize by government in this ground. There is one of the famous Sanik School in Sujanpur Tira.

Deotsidh Temple: Baba Balak Nath or Sidh Baba Balak Nath. His shrine is known as “Deotsidh”. It is 45 Kilometers from “Hamirpur” and situated border of Hamirpur and Bilaspur districts of Himachal Pradesh.
