Shimla, is one of India’s most famous hill stations was the former summer capital of the British in India, and the present capital of Himachal Pradesh. This beautiful hill station derives its name from “Goddess Shyamla”, who is supposed to be an avatar of Goddess Kali. How to Reach Shimla?
By Road: There are huge HRTC services from ISBT, Volvos and best Taxi services are available from Delhi to Shimla. The distance of Shimla to Delhi is about 357 km.
By Train: Kalka is the nearest broad gauge railhead. (96 Kms from Shimla). The tourists will have to change their train at Kalka from where The Kalka Shimla toy train runs on a UNESCO heritage narrow gauge track connecting to Shimla.
By Air : Jubbarhatti Airport is nearly 23 km. The airport is connected to Delhi airport by daily flights.
