The Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF)

The Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF) (5-8 November, 2015) is an off-beat, eclectic independent film festival held annually in Mcleod Ganj. Long-time residents of Dharamshala, filmmakers Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam started the festival in 2012 to bring the best of independent cinema to the mountains. DIFF 2015 will build on the hallmarks that have given the festival its reputation as a cutting edge event – an intimate and carefully curated festival in the Himalayas. The DIFF 2015 programme will screen a host of award winning feature films, documentaries, children’s films, and shorts. Dharamshala international film festival (DIFF) 2015 promises to be another unusual cinematic experience in the Dhauladhars.

The Aims of DIFF are:

  • To bring high quality films and filmmakers from around the world to Dharamshala
  • To promote local filmmaking talent by organising through screenings and workshops etc.
  • To encourage visitors from India and abroad to visit Dharamshala by establishing a world-class film festival and promoting it as a destination for cultural tourism
